Story
For Villa G in Offenburg, a high-quality renovated old building, AK Lichtdesign developed a comprehensive lighting concept for the entire interior. The aim was to connect the architectural elegance of the historic building with contemporary lighting design and to make the special atmosphere of the villa perceptibly experienceable.
A finely tuned interplay of direct and indirect light specifically highlights materials, proportions, and architectural details. The lighting design enhances the spatial effect, creates clear orientation, and gives each area its own mood, from representative to homely, from calm to vibrant.
The lighting concept respects the character of the renovated old building and reinterprets it. Modern, discreet, and emotional, it creates a harmonious overall picture in which architecture, use, and light merge into a creative unity.
Challenge
The challenge was to preserve the historical character of the villa while developing a contemporary lighting solution. Light should support the existing architecture without overwhelming it and allow for different spatial atmospheres for various uses.

The lighting design is based on a sensitive balance between restraint and targeted accentuation.
