Story
For the Z Building abroad, AK Lichtdesign developed a holistic lighting concept that not only makes architecture visible but also makes it experienceable. Light here is understood as an identity-forming design element that shapes perception, directs movement, and precisely emphasizes the architectural character of the building.
The aim of the project was to enhance the architectural idea of the building through light and to clearly highlight its features. Through targeted accentuation, harmonious lighting moods, and a well-thought-out lighting layout, a strong visual identity with high quality of stay is created, which works both during the day and at night.
Challenge
The challenge was to develop a lighting concept that does justice to the architectural statement of the building while also creating orientation, clarity, and atmosphere. Light should not dominate but rather support, structure, and emotionally charge the architecture.
Solution
The lighting design is based on a conscious interplay of restraint, precision, and design clarity.
Architecture-focused lighting layout
The lighting layout supports the lines and volumetry of the building and makes the architectural idea clearly readable.Targeted accentuation
Distinct elements and zones are highlighted by precisely set light accents, giving the building depth and character.Atmospheric lighting moods
Harmoniously coordinated lighting moods create orientation, quality of stay, and a pleasant perception of space.Identity-forming lighting concept
The lighting design strengthens the visual identity of the building and makes its architectural stance experienceable from the outside as well.
This project shows how light shapes spaces, evokes emotions, and allows architecture to unleash its full effect. The Z Building thus becomes a place with a clear identity and sustainable presence.
